August Achievement Adventure

Post by Facial La Fleur on Sun Jul 09, 2017 12:29 pm

I've been out of the achievement hunting game for the better part of 2017. I've only really put any serious effort into Clicker Heroes and The Elder Scrolls Online (literally thousands of hours between the two), World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap (had it completed until this recent title update), Fallout Shelter and Alto's Adventure (both completed, never to be heard from again). During my free 14 day trial of the XBOX Games Pass I started and completed The Golf Club and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, but not much else going on for this tired old achievement whore, in part due to my overwhelmingly huge backlog.

Rather than list everything I have, I'm going to focus on this one month at a time in an attempt to avoid feeling overwhelmed and ultimately giving up again. My goal for August will be to free up some space on my XBOX One HDD by completing a few things that are already installed and, for the hell of it, a Windows Phone game

Here's what I got...

Clicker Heroes++ 10 of 12 achievements++ 650g of 1000g
Life is Strange++ 24 of 60 achievements++ 400g of 1000g
LIMBO++ 12 of 13 achievements++ 900g of 1000g
Murdered: Soul Suspect++ 03 of 48 achievements++ 45g of 1000g
Project Spark++ 147 of 148 achievements++ 2285g of 3000g
Tiki Taki Soccer (WP) ++ 08 of 10 achievements++ 160g of 200g
Unravel++ 01 of 26 achievements++ 20g of 1000g
The Walking Dead (Season One)++ 24 of 48 achievements++ 500g of 1000g
World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap++ 50 of 55 achievements++ 1000g of 1250g

August Stats

Games Listed: 9
Games Completed: 0
Achievements Attempting: 141
Achievements Earned: 0
Gamerscore Available: 3790g
Gamerscore Earned: 0g
Starting Completion: 75.70%
Ending Completion: ??.??%

This would seem fairly reasonable, but I don't know if I have it in me anymore. We shall see! Wink

I recently just start playing Clicker Heroes and while I don't think I have the overall best strategy for it, it's been consuming most of my SP gaming time. I'm going to take a step back and basically play it idle and just log on every once in awhile to upgrade my Heroes and then move on. I have a couple of those games you mentioned but every time I attempt to make a plan for myself I tend to get side-tracked.

I've felt that way about my backlog and with the recent addition of Gamepass I've been holding back on purchasing games for now. I've completed Brothers, Soul Calibur, Virtual Fighter, Sam & Max: Beyond Time & Space, Golden Axe, Dig Dug, Pack Man and will be working onf The Swapper and Resident Evil 0 in the somewhat near future.

Yeah, between XBOX Game Pass, EA Access, and Games with Gold, there's really no need to buy new releases anymore. My wallet will be very glad when I stop buying games.

I've basically decided to only buy a game if it comes in under $5 which really hurt me during the backwards compatibility sale. It's all good though. Smile

My willingness to buy ANYTHING under 5 bucks is why my backlog is so huge. Don't even get me started on Steam. I rarely play on PC and yet I still buy all the cheap games. Laughing
