August Achievement Adventure

I've been out of the achievement hunting game for the better part of 2017. I've only really put any serious effort into Clicker Heroes and The Elder Scrolls Online (literally thousands of hours between the two), World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap (had it completed until this recent title update), Fallout Shelter and Alto's Adventure (both completed, never to be heard from again). During my free 14 day trial of the XBOX Games Pass I started and completed The Golf Club and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, but not much else going on for this tired old achievement whore, in part due to my overwhelmingly huge backlog.

Rather than list everything I have, I'm going to focus on this one month at a time in an attempt to avoid feeling overwhelmed and ultimately giving up again. My goal for August will be to free up some space on my XBOX One HDD by completing a few things that are already installed and, for the hell of it, a Windows Phone game

I recently just start playing Clicker Heroes and while I don't think I have the overall best strategy for it, it's been consuming most of my SP gaming time. I'm going to take a step back and basically play it idle and just log on every once in awhile to upgrade my Heroes and then move on. I have a couple of those games you mentioned but every time I attempt to make a plan for myself I tend to get side-tracked.

I've felt that way about my backlog and with the recent addition of Gamepass I've been holding back on purchasing games for now. I've completed Brothers, Soul Calibur, Virtual Fighter, Sam & Max: Beyond Time & Space, Golden Axe, Dig Dug, Pack Man and will be working onf The Swapper and Resident Evil 0 in the somewhat near future.

Yeah, between XBOX Game Pass, EA Access, and Games with Gold, there's really no need to buy new releases anymore. My wallet will be very glad when I stop buying games.

I've basically decided to only buy a game if it comes in under $5 which really hurt me during the backwards compatibility sale. It's all good though.

My willingness to buy ANYTHING under 5 bucks is why my backlog is so huge. Don't even get me started on Steam. I rarely play on PC and yet I still buy all the cheap games.

It's actually funny you mentioned Steam.. I'm downloading it to my work pc now. :p

I've earned achievements in other games not listed here but haven't started anything new, so my completion percentage should only be going up. The TA Playlist for August is Life is Strange, so I'll definitely be going for that completion.

Nice job on Clicker Heroes! So you must only need the one for reaching level 3600? I'm on my 3rd transention and it's taking forever to level up because I need a ton of hero souls per Ancient Soul... I think I'm doing something wrong though because it seems quite grindy now. How are you leveling your Ancient Souls After transending?

For my Ancients, they look like this after 3 transcensions...

After you transend what is your focus for ancients and then how do you normally level them up? I'm on my 4th ascension and I need like 58,000k per Ancient Soul so I've been leveling Solomon up quite a bit so I'm harvesting more Hero Souls but it's getting painfully slow.

You want to focus on Solomon, Siyalatas, and Libertas until they are leveled relatively high. Once you've earning so many Hero Souls though, you can start investing in some of the other non-active Ancients.

There's probably better strategies than what I'm doing, I'm just kinda winging it. Not in a hurry to finish it as long as I do this month.

Yeah, I'm thinking I need to focus more on Solomon, Siyalatas and Libertas... mine are under-leveled... I'll have to fix that this evening.

How about a mid-month update? I've actually not been focusing on this as much as I had planned because it's taken quite a bit of work to remain in this years Leap Frog contest on TA and will only get more difficult as we get deeper into it. My main goal is to finish in the top 100 participants and there are presently about 350 of us left. On average, about 40 people 'croak' each day, so I just need to hang in there for another 4-6 days. Once we need 4+ of the higher ratio achievements, most people won't be able to meet the requirements, but my path is pretty laid out well into the 8.0 and above ratio rang, so it shouldn't be a problem for me.

Aside from Leap Frog, I did play one episode of Life is Strange for the TA Playlist this month and am hoping to finish up the two I have left this coming week. I played a ton more Clicker Heroes, and it's actually finished but waiting until the 6.0 ratio day to load the game and pop my last achievement in it.
